Rain Chain No. 47
Raw lava rock + teal rust glaze
$368
Formed by hand and trimmed on the wheel, this rain chain carries rainwater from gutter to ground one cup at a time. It's a mixed piece — half the cups are raw lava-rock clay, left unglazed so the dark, speckled body shows through, and the other half are 55 stoneware under a teal rust glaze that breaks warm over the ridges. Built to live outside, where the raw clay will weather and the glaze will deepen season after season. One of a kind, made once and never repeated.

How it works
A downspout
you can watch
A rain chain replaces a standard closed downspout. Water collects at the gutter outlet and travels down the chain cup to cup, so the flow stays visible and audible instead of hidden inside a pipe.
Replaces a downspout
Hangs at the gutter outlet in place of a metal downspout — real drainage, not decoration.
Fills and spills
Cups brim and cascade in a downpour, bead and trickle in a drizzle.
Simple to hang
Ships with a V-hook to hang it right at the gutter outlet.
